March 2020 Meetup: Responsibility

March 24 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Responsibility looms large in our actions and our vocabulary. We hold people responsible, we can take and allocate responsibility, and we can shirk responsibility. We might be frustrated when people fail to act responsibly or when the “nanny state” takes responsibility away from us. In this session, we’ll explore what it is reasonable to expect from each other, when we should step up and when we should yield responsibility to others.

  • 6.30-7pm: Arrive and meet other attendees and members of the Ethical Reading team
  • 7-7.05pm: Welcome and introduction
  • 7.05-7.20pm: Talk
  • 7.20-8.20pm: Discussion in breakout groups with feedback
  • 8.20-8.30pm: Wrap-up and mentions of relevant upcoming events etc*
  • 8.30-9.00pm: For those who wish, retire to the bar to continue the conversation
